Entering their sixth year of writing original music together, what sets Tangled Lines furthest apart from other acts is their instrumental approach. The Welsh/British influences of lead singer James Davies, make peace with traditional American sounds without overpowering them. Mike Stupak of the Shepard Express had the following to say of their latest release “A lot of what passes for decent original music strives to represent the collective experience of the writers involved and hopes to convey that experience in ways their audience will understand and gravitate toward. With their latest release, Decades, Tangled Lines manages not only to hit that mark, but to do so with a strong command of harmony, good arrangements and glove-tight playing that can turn on a dime when needed.”
2020 is shaping up to be an exciting year for Tangled Lines, with the band recently making it on the Best of 2019 playlist on FM 106.1 Home Made Jams and having a few songs featured on a popular reality TV show. The band loves nothing more than playing to their fans and have several big live shows already lined up. They return for their third consecutive year playing the Major Goolsby’s stage at the WI state fair where you will hear a mix of their original music and a collection of upbeat popular cover songs from many musical eras. They are also continuing to write new songs and looking forward to the process of putting together record number three.
